3D networks coming to TV

A new featuring 24-7 three-dimensional content will be coming to your home television network in 2011. This is coming on Discovery Channel and its family of networks, Sony, and Imax.

All three firms will hold equal share in the joint venture. The goal is to drive “consumer adoption of 3D televisions” and become a “long term” leader in the 3D home marketplace. After launches, the network will be available only in the United States, but they have plan to explore international opportunities in the future.

After launching , the companies said it will feature “content from genres that are most appealing in 3D, including natural history, space, exploration, adventure, engineering, science and technology, motion pictures and children’s programming from Discovery, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Imax, and other third-party providers.”

RKi8400 having a 2.4-inch color LCD display text-to-speech support and a 7-band equalizer.The RKi8400 offers a 4×50W MOSFET amplifier for driving those speakers.

Microsoft:Windows 7 can offer better battery life than previous

Microsoft showed two identical laptops playing the same DVD, with the Windows 7-equipped notebook getting 20 percent better battery life than one running Windows Vista. “We’re achieving a very significant amount of battery savings,” said Microsoft principal program manager Ruston Panabaker.

Vonage mobile VoIP app was approved by Apple

The Internet telephone service provider said it’s conducting a beta test of the app and that general availability.Apple was working with the developer to resolve the issue but would not elaborate on the nature of the issue.Vonage’s request for app approval was being held up by technical issues with the Vonage software.

Mini Laptop Shipments exced Notebooks

Netbook shipments in the second quarter nearly doubled that of traditional mobile PCs in a business market. It rising 40% from the first quarter, DisplaySearch reported in its quarterly laptop report. Quarter-to-quarter Shipments of traditional laptops increased 22%.

Mini-laptops in the second quarter accounted for 22.2% of mobile PC shipments, almost a fourfold increase from 5.6% of the market in the same period a year ago. Shipments of traditional laptops accounted for 77.8% of the market.
