Lenovo People’s Republic of China-based Multinational computer technology corporation has today announced the ThinkPad X220 laptop and X220 convertible Tablet PC which has been designed with an ultraportable design which runs battery life up to 24 hours on the ThinkPad X220.
The new ThinkPad X220 laptop is awesome with its low weight and lasting battery life. While coming to the features the new ThinkPad X220 laptop is equipped with 12.5-inch HD screen with a resolution of 1366×768, with Sandy Bridge Core i3, i5, and i7 processors, 720p webcam, new buttonless touchpad, common docking support with the ThinkPad T, L and W series, up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, dual digital microphones, USB 3.0 and a selection SSDs, with Intel’s 80GB and 160GB offerings, Wi-Fi and Windows 7 Professional (64-bit).
Here comes the extreme spec of the X220 laptop, which is its battery life with a 6 cell battery X220 laptop, provides up to 9 hours of run time. Upgrade to a 9 cell battery and you should get 15 hours. There’s also an external battery option which provides up to 24 hours of run time.
While the X220 Convertible Tablet features the same specs as the ThinkPad X220 Laptop but with a swiveling LCD for conversion into a tablet and weights 3.88 pounds with a 4 cell battery and is armed with 12.5-inch HD screen, with scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass, with Sandy Bridge Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 processors, 8G of DDR3 memory, with 802.11n WiFi, WiMAX, or 3G options, Hard drive and SSD options.
Coming to the battery life with a standard 4 cell battery, you can use a 9 cell battery. The convertible tablet gets up to 16 hours of run time with a 6 cell battery and the external battery pack.
Finally, the new ThinkPad X220 laptop and X220 convertible Tablet both will be hitting the market in April with approximately starting price tag of $899 and $1,199 respectively.
