comScore Mobile Subscribers: Android Top in Smartphone Platforms

Posted on 30 December 2011 by James

comScore the Market research firm has announced its November 2011 report on US mobile subscribers, according to the reports Android grabs the lead position in smartphone platforms, at the same time as Samsung is still on top in smartphone manufacturer market share. On the other hand, the Cupertino California giant (Apple) saw increasing growth, whereas the others expected due to a boost from its iPhone 4S sales.

30,000 US mobile subscribers were surveyed by taking the 3 month average period ending in November. The study report note that among the top 5 smartphone OEMs, the first place has been grabbed by Samsung with 25.6 percent, a 0.3 point change, whereas Apple stands at the fourth place with 11.2 percent, a dramatic 1.4 point change. The second and third place has been grabbed by LG and Motorola, with 20.5 percent and 13.7 percent respectively, each seeing a drop of -0.5 and -0.3 point changes.

Quite fascinatingly, the Search Giant’s Android continues to lead in the top 5 smartphone platforms, currently at 46.9 percent, a 3.1 point change, which is dropped from the 4.4 point change noted in the 3 month period ending last month. While, currently Apple’s iOS is at 28.7 percent, 1.4 point changes up from the 1.0 point change last month.

Sadly, RIM has seen the greatest drop with a negative 3.1 point change, platform market share down to 16.6 percent. Microsoft as well isn’t doing too good, in spite of its latest launch of fresh Windows Phone 7.5 Mango devices, currently seeing a 5.2 percent market share over the 3 month period.

Samsung Galaxy S III Smartphone Features & Press Images Leaked

Posted on 26 December 2011 by Brian

"Samsung Galaxy S III"Here we go with the leaked press images and details regarding Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone. Galaxy S III is the next generation Samsung line of Galaxy S smartphone which has been reported to be appeared on Samsung’s official page on a Russian social network by the name of Vkontakte.

According to the reports from the Sources familiar with the matter claims that Galaxy S III may be the  first smartphone to be dual-booting Android and Bada Operating System right out of the box. Further this smartphone is known as Samsung GT-I9500 Universal, and its details are rather unbelieving.

On the other hand, the renderings in fact emerge quite crisp and surely in line with what we have seen from Samsung recently, in particular with the Galaxy Note and the Galaxy Players, the magic inside could be too far-fetched to be practical. Featuring a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution display, with  9mm thick body and a 12 megapixel shooter on the back with both LED flash AND Xenon flash. Strange stuff to be sure!

Furthermore, the device features a 2 megapixel front-facing camera, with 32 or 64 GB internal memory, a microSDXC slot, and it is alleged to land as a stylus like the Galaxy Note, armed with a powerful quad-core Samsung Exynos 4412 1.5GHz processor, working with TouchWiz 5.0 software.

It is stated that the smartphone runs on both Android and Bada Operating System, which is really too strange to be realistic, and how this works is in fact outside of everyone’s understanding. Ultimately, buttons at the bottom of the display running against suggested for Ice Cream Sandwich, know that Android 4.0 does have the capacity to simply run with these buttons yet in-tact.

We will either find this smartphone to be real fairly soon or the name Galaxy S III wont pop up again until early 2012. What do you say?

Nokia Lumia 710 Smartphone to Land on T-Mobile

Posted on 12 December 2011 by Barbara

"Nokia Lumia 710 Smartphone"Nokia Lumia lineup is the hot cake in the web from couple of months and last week it has been tipped by Nokia itself in a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) filing regarding the smartphone on T-Mobile and now it has been confirmed that the arrival of Nokia Lumia 710 will be on the Carrier, T-Mobile.

According to the official reports from the Company, the new Nokia Lumia 710 is a 3.7 inch windows phone which is powered by Mango Operating System. On the other hand, a leaked note bear out that T-Mobile and Nokia will be introducing the smartphone at an event held on this Wednesday (December 14th) in New York.

Recently a leaked press shot of Nokia Lumia 710, with the T-Mobile mark, was uncovered and the Carrier would be offering the Lumia 710 in two flavors, its black and white color, together with the interchangeable back covers. The Lumia 710 white model will be the first Nokia Windows Phone to land in the U.S. market.

In Europe, the phone is already available with its higher-end type, Lumia 810. Nokia Lumia 710 is designed as a more affordable model of Lumia 810. As you are aware, in the past Nokia and T-Mobile are traditional partners with the selling a number of Nokia phones.

T-mobile needs another spark as it is the only carrier in the US without a contract for iPhones. Meanwhile, Nokia is looking for a way to burst into the U.S.market again and trying to grab the interest of new customers. To be frank, there is nothing essentially flashy regarding the model; as a result it is unclear whether folks would exclusively select Lumia 710 from hypnotic versions of latest generation Android phones that might perhaps win their instant attention.

Stay connected with us to know more updates on Nokia Lumia 710!
