Windows 7 : fastest selling OS in history& Microsoft reports profit

Windows 7 marked a complete turn around for the company

The world’s largest software had built up a user base. Its current operating system Windows Vista brought many innovations, but also frustrations that led to an icy public reception. Microsoft’s be pretty happy with its second quarter results compare to previous two quarters.

The company’s posting a record $19.02 billion in revenue and 14 percent increase year-over-year. Net income / profit was $6.66 billion. It is $1.71 billion in deferred revenue for Windows 7 pre-sales, which in laymen’s terms means money the company made before the fiscal quarter began but couldn’t then claim it because the product (Windows 7) hadn’t yet been delivered to the consumer. Microsoft is claiming to now have “the fastest selling operating system in history” with 60 million licenses sold.

The Adamo Admire is sporting an altogether sultry base price of $999, which contains 1.4GHz Core 2 Duo processor, Windows 7 Home (64-bit), 2GB of DDR3 RAM and a 128GB solid state drive. Adamo Desire has also undergone a price reduction, enabling you to get a 2.1GHz Core 2 Duo chip, 4GB of memory, integrated mobile broadband and a 256GB SSD for $1,799 .

MSI Tablet PC launching?

MSI’s Tegra-powered device was first shown off at the CES show in Las Vegas. It has one issue they may need to read just in light of the iPad announcement. MSI priced their tablet at $500. Apple’s iPad starts at $499. People paying $500 for an MSI tablet when they could spend the same amount and get the much cooler Apple iPad. It’s MSI’s 10-inch, Tegra-powered machine we checked out a few weeks back at CES.

The New Nokia N900 Clone

We already have in the market a clone of Nokia N900 with a price of 128 dollars. Nokia N900, it’s COOL N900, probably the best Nokia N900 clone. The clone looks exactly the same as the real one having a 3.2-inch touchscreen, dual camera and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. It even has a S60-like UI. The other features of COOL N900 is FM tuner, TV tuner, dual SIM slots, and media playback functions. It is priced at 750 Chinese Yuan.

Latest Zune Phone Driver Update Revelead

A new Zune software update was also released today. Zune models with higher capacities, it does not make sense to use the word “Phone”. It still open for debate whether they will be actual Zune-based phones or merely Zune services incorporated into phones, this news ties in with Microsoft’s rumored upcoming announcements of Windows Mobile 7 and new devices within the next few months.

The Prototype of Apple is a 27 year old one , which is shown in the figure. It Looks like the Apple Tablet is a dream come true for the Manufacturers. This tablet didn’t go past prototypes hooked up by an industrial design firm. Frog Design as the company who kindly let us show off 1980’s prototypes of an Apple phone at the Gizmodo Gallery. At the same time that those phone prototypes were created, prototypes for an Apple tablet computer.

3D networks coming to TV

A new featuring 24-7 three-dimensional content will be coming to your home television network in 2011. This is coming on Discovery Channel and its family of networks, Sony, and Imax.

All three firms will hold equal share in the joint venture. The goal is to drive “consumer adoption of 3D televisions” and become a “long term” leader in the 3D home marketplace. After launches, the network will be available only in the United States, but they have plan to explore international opportunities in the future.

After launching , the companies said it will feature “content from genres that are most appealing in 3D, including natural history, space, exploration, adventure, engineering, science and technology, motion pictures and children’s programming from Discovery, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Imax, and other third-party providers.”

LG Eco-friendly LCD Monitor

Edges are just 17mm thin, this 23-inch LCD display is built without any prohibited hazardous materials. The LG E2350V is the company’s latest eco-friendly monitor. It is the first UL Monitor in the world. The UL stands for Underwriters Laboratories, an independent product safety certification organization that has been testing products and writing standards for safety for more than a century.

Other features include a LED backlight and a 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio. LG will introduce the LG E2350V at CES 2010.
